Crowns

Home - Drummoyne Dentist - General and Emergency 7 Day 24 hr Dentist

Crowns are usually made when a tooth is weakened in some way. This may be because the tooth may have had a large amount of decay, the tooth has been broken or the tooth has been root canal treated. The procedure for making a crown is as follows: we create space for the crown by shaving your tooth; we then take a mould of your tooth and send this mould to the laboratory. Usually, the fabricated crown will be returned within 1-2 weeks. During the second visit we permanently cement the crown. The final crown restores the tooth to its original shape and colour, as well as holding the tooth together in order to prevent further breakdown.
